Our church may date to the 1700s, but the only thing old-fashioned about us is our hospitality. At Beneficent, all are welcome AND all have a role in doing that welcoming.
Beneficent — an Open and Affirming congregation — celebrates Pride month each June by marching in the evening’s parade and serving water to marchers as they pass the church.
Our Sunday School is growing but there’s always room for new faces.

Beneficent partners with a variety of community groups, including RPM Voices of Rhode Island. This summer RPM once again held a week-long gospel workshop at Beneficent, in preparation for “The Beauty of My Music: A Journey from Spirituals to Gospels”, their July 8th Choral and Gospel Music Brunch & Concert event.
