In the Heart of Downtown Providence: How to Find Us

Beneficent Congregational Church is located at 300 Weybosset Street in downtown Providence, just one block up the hill from the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC).

If you come by car from the North:

• Take I-95 South until exit #21, Atwells Avenue.
• At the top of the ramp, continue straight alongside Route 95 on the access road, crossing several major streets (Broadway, Washington, Westminster).
• At Broad Street (Crossroads RI, former YMCA), make a left and cross over I-95.
• Continue down the hill two blocks until Broad Street becomes Weybosset.
• The Church will be just ahead on your right. Take a right at the intersection onto Chestnut Street, then turn left into the Church parking lot.

If you come by car from the South:

• Take I-95 North until exit #21, Broadway.
• At the top of the ramp, turn left and cross 95.
• Turn left again on the access road running along beside the highway, crossing several major streets.
• When you come to Broad Street, follow the directions above.

If you come by bus or trolley:

• From Kennedy Plaza, you can take the #11/Broad Street, which will go down Empire and turn up Broad right across from the church.
• You can also take the South Side trolley, which travels south on Empire/Chestnut, right by the side of the church. More information about both can be found on RIPTA's web site. On that site you can also find a handy map of downtown.
• The Church is also an easy ten minute walk from Kennedy Plaza. From the west end of the Plaza, walk south on Dorrance three blocks, then make a right on Weybosset and head up Weybosset Hill past PPAC.

If you come by train:

• The Amtrak train station is a short distance from the church (about 20 minutes on foot) and on the trolley route (trolleys go by the train station about every 15 minutes). Take the Capitol Hill line to Kennedy Plaza and transfer to the South Side trolley. Then follow the above instructions.
