The Sacred Conversations Series is a Beneficent Lenten Tradition.

Each year, during the weeks leading up to Easter, Beneficent holds a series of special worship services centered around issues of importance or special interest.

The format for these services is simple: instead of the usual sermon, one of the pastors will dialogue with a special guest about that week's specific topic.  Be sure to join us for these timely, insightful and challenging conversations!

February 22 - Chinese New Year/Sacred Conversation on Chinese Culture with blogger and freelance photographer Erin X. Smithers.  Erin will be sharing some of her photography and using these images as an entry point to a discussion of the connections between spirituality, Chinese culture, and the Lunar New Year.

March 1 - Sacred Conversation on Social Media with Ray Sullivan, Partner at Checkmate Consulting. Ray will be discussing the importance of social media in today's political, social and spiritual landscape.

March 8 - Amistad Sunday/Sacred Conversation on Youth with Beneficent's own Sage Leimer, who will be discussing faith and culture from a youth perspective.

March 15 - Sacred Conversation on Race with Rev. Jabulani McCalister, Senior Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Providence.  Rev. McCalister will be discussing the significance of race from a local and pastoral perspective in light of current events and public discourse.

March 22 - Sacred Conversation on Faith & Science with Paul Czech, Professor of Chemistry at Providence College.  Professor Czech will be exploring the relationship between science and faith from his own perspective as both a person of faith, and also as a member of the scientific community.
